With the inauguration of our new pig breeding stable in August 2025 we now have approximately 3 times more space and updated facilities for breeding and experimenting with Ossabaw pigs. This is essential in meeting the increasing European demands for Ossabaw pigs.
Uniquely, this breeding is certified Ap (Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae) negative, adding an additional layer to the already high health status of the Ossabaw pigs.
All future breeding at the DTU Ossabaw facility will be based on artificial insemination, using semen collected from boars at the American Ossabaw facility at CorVus LLC.
Important note:
Due to unforeseen administrative circumstances, transfer of the first batch of Ossabaw semen from the US (collected in June 2025) has been significantly delayed. Until this is solved – hopefully soon - we cannot deliver new batches of Ossabaw pigs from the DTU Ossabaw facility. However, there is the option of purchasing the Ossabaw pigs directly from CorVus Biomedical LLC, serving as a temporary solution for customers who acutely need Ossabaw pigs.
